What We Treat

Rosacea

Rosacea is a common, chronic skin condition that primarily affects the face. It is characterised by redness, visible blood vessels, and sometimes acne-like bumps or pustules. The exact cause of rosacea is not fully understood, but it may involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors, as well as an inflammatory response.

Persistent for temporary flushing or redness, particularly on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. Visible Blood Vessels: Small, dilated blood vessels may become apparent on the skin. Bumps and Pimples: Acne-like breakouts can occur, often mistaken for regular acne.

In some cases, particularly in men, the skin may thicken, especially on the nose (a condition known as rhinophyma).

Some individuals experience eye irritation, dryness, or redness, a condition known as ocular rosacea.

Triggers for rosacea can vary widely and may include sun exposure, hot or cold weather, spicy foods, alcohol, and stress. While there is no cure for rosacea, treatments can help manage symptoms and reduce flare-ups.
